Privatizing the Pandemic
President Trump has taken a page from former President Bush in how to turn public misfortune into private profit; Trump from the COVID pandemic, Bush from the war in Iraq. Diverting urgent testing kits (intended for hospitals) from FEMA to commercial middlemen--in order to resell them to hospitals--illustrates the rationalization of theft that underpins the Republican party.
