Hillary's Zionism

As Glen Greenwald reports, Hillary's Zionism is no laughing matter. As U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary fought hard against the UN publication of a report which documented widespread Israeli war crimes in Gaza. In response to Hillary's criticism of Obama for not attacking Israel's enemies, saying she would be more militaristic, Greenwald understandably asks what could be more militaristic than bombing seven Muslim countries repeatedly?

As Greenwald observes, "She does not even acknowledge, let alone express opposition to, Israel's repeated, civilian-slaughtering bombing of the open-air prison in Gaza."

In Pathways to Spectacle: Consumerism as “Activism”, I noted that the cult of consumerism — through which international NGOs like 350, Avaaz and Purpose adherents identify with their brand — is similar to religion, in that becoming a follower is an act of faith. By unquestioningly accepting NGO propaganda as truth, these followers form beliefs that comprise the doctrine supporting this ideology of false hope.

Social engineering in the digital age is amazingly simple for those who have the money and the media at their disposal. Wall Street’s Mad Men can easily herd millions of progressives via social media to support catastrophic environmental policy, war, and crimes against humanity. Sold as conservation, “humanitarian intervention”, or development, globalization can then be marketed as a progressive choice, albeit leading to totalitarian corporate control of all life.

The driving force behind privatization through social engineering is the non-profit industrial complex, funded by Wall Street derivatives, and disbursed through tax-exempt foundation grants. Hundreds of millions have been invested by these foundations in the last decade to convince progressives that war is peace, conformity is unity, and capitulation is resistance.

YouTopia: A Documentary About Social Engineering in the Digital Age — a SIRIUS VIDEO project of the Situationist Art Collective* — needs public support to begin production. If you would like to be a part of providing seed money to take this vital message from the storyboard to the screen, please contact us.

White Jesus

Andre E. Johnson, writing at Religion Dispatches, reminds us that “Jesus could not have been white”. Although most Christians in America grow up looking at images of Jesus as Scandinavian, the reality is that he was Palestinian.

So why don’t Bible-thumpers in Alabama have Jesus pictures on the wall that look like Yasser Arafat, whom I personally think looks kind of like Ringo Starr? Well, the short answer is that it doesn’t sit too well with white supremacists’ self-image of holier-than-thou antebellum notions of race.

Why the big deal? Well, as Johnson observes, White Jesus makes it possible for the devil to be Black.

Meanwhile, Hollywood and churches continue propagating the White Jesus myth.

Call it an identity crisis.

Stronger Than Ever

Chris Hedges’ exhortation on the imminent collapse of globalized capitalism, and the hopeful new dawn of socialism, misreads the facts that show capitalism is stronger than ever. Capitalism is not collapsing. It has morphed into institutionalized gangsterism.
