Googling the White House
In the ideal totalitarian state, the state knows everything about you, and you know nothing about it. When the state forms a partnership with corporations that control information, that makes it a lot easier--for them. When the state is reduced to a conduit for transferring public wealth (your tax dollars) to private parties (Wall Street), controlling information is essential to preventing public organizing against corruption.
