Extraordinary Demographic Growth
Since the founding of the UN in 1945, the world's population has tripled, with 28 mega-cities (over 10 million). Urban populations in this time period went from 30% to 54% of global humanity. Refugees, asylum seekers, and internally displaced persons now top 50 million. It is expected the world's population will grow from 7 billion to 10 billion by the year 2100.
