Solitary Confinement

Shining a light on the dark side of the Bureau of Prisons inhumane practice of solitary confinement, Religion Dispatches leaves readers with some stark facts about torture for profit in the US. While the United Nations condemns solitary confinement for more than 15 days as a form of torture, American prisons currently hold 80,000 prisoners in solitary, many whom have been so confined for years, even decades.
